I started attending Valley a year ago. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. Every week my heart and soul are filled. I look forward to starting my week with Sunday morning at Valley
I left Valley over a year ago and have been wrestling for a little while over to write a review or not, and it's 3am now, and I can't sleep. So here it goes.
On the surface, Valley appears warm and welcoming. Slowly over time, a few years of attending every Sunday, I started getting different views when peeling back the layers of the onion.
The message that the lead pastor preaches is a good message for the most part but doesn't reflect in church leadership. There is too much effort in trying to be a perfect church that it looses its authenticity, leaving the church feeling more like a corporate environment then a family environment. In a nutshell the church feels like a country club.
The church is elder rule and not congregational ly led. The issue lies in that there is a lack of transparency between church leadership and the congregation, when major conflicts happen on the elder board that causes elders or leaders to be dechurched and very little information is brought forth to the congregation regarding the conflict. (Seems there is a lot going on behind the curtain).
The church culture within the membership feels divided between the haves and the have nots (cliquey).
What it comes down to is unhealthy church leadership that ripples through the body. I even felt like Valley was in competition with other local churches they way the lead pastor lifts up the local body.
I'm giving a 5 star review because I was too stubborn to leave the church (comfortable) but ultimately led a good learning experience.
When I walk into valley Christian church I felt like I was home. The people are wonderful. This is the church I’ve been looking for for years to come and pray to Jesus. For Years I’ve been lost now I found Jesus again I feel alive and so happy. Thank you valley Christian for helping me find my way.
I LOVE this church! I’ve been inviting my family and friends to go with me because this church is so amazing! I started attending Valley a few months ago after reading a review that said “God lives in this church”. It could not be more true! God saved me here!
The community in this church is extremely warm and welcoming, there are tons of opportunities to join groups and meet people in the church and feel more part of the community, but they don’t pressure you to join groups if that’s something you’re not quite comfortable with. Pastor Greg and all of the guest pastors I have heard preach are well spoken, highly educated, engaging, and their messages always find a way of speaking to my heart. The people here remember you and say hi or welcome back every week every week, they are so kind and caring. You can also meet with the prayer team to pray with a member from the church at the end of service if you have something weighing heavy on your heart and are seeking additional support. When I was younger I used to avoid going to church but after finding valley, it has truly become the highlight of my week. I cannot speak highly enough of Valley Church.
