The food was honestly okay, the pho had a very lightly flavored broth and beef chunks instead of slices, the pho noodle portion was small and a bit more chewy than ideal. Honestly a solid Americanized Asian restaurant but not a place to go for good authentic Vietnam cuisine :)
I had to check out the culinary treats at Vietnam’s Central.. it was a quiet spot with some Vietnamese favorites. The spring rolls were ok, yet the presentation was lacking…
The stirfry chicken was also ok, yet seemed a bit westernized for locals who patronize them. There are many Asian options up the road that require some exploration…
Plot twist: turns out I do like pho 🍜✨
I’ve had it before and thought it wasn’t for me, but I was so wrong. This bowl from Vietnam Central completely changed my mind. The chicken broth was rich and flavorful (glutenfree), the noodles were springy. This came with several pieces of pork chop some on a bone very flavorful and moist.
The condiments (scallions, basil, bean sprouts, mint and onions) came already in the bowl, but you can still get extras on the side for a small cost. Sriracha, chili paste and hoisin sauce are placed on the table when you sit down.
Van’s Summer rolls - Rice paper wraps, spring mixed, cucumber, lemon zest, chili, and fried wheat rolls (Gluten free). Chicken, shrimp or tofu we had the shrimp. They came with a lightly sweet orange sauce, but their hoisin was so tasty I couldn’t resist dipping into that instead.
dessert - Halo-Halo
ube ice cream was so delicious! The chef-owner told us the secret is to mix everything together with the ice, and when it all melts, you can drink it—such a refreshing way to end the meal.
I absolutely love the beef pho at Vietnam’s Central. I come here I’d say about once a month to indulge. However today, my server recommended their pork wonton soup (specials menu) and O M G I have no words, but just enough to leave this review. A delicious and perfectly balanced savory and sweet broth with pork stuffed wontons, pieces of pork, bok choy, green onions, egg noodles. If you love pho you need to catch this incredibly hardy soup. Thank you!!!! I hope to have this again soon!
Unfortunately I can't recommend anyone that's had pho before come here. If you're used to fatty beef, abundance of noodles, deep flavored broth, and a plate of bean sprouts; this is not the place.
We each had a beef pho and there was almost no beef and very little noodles. The soup was okay but wasn't particularly flavorful. Ingredients just felt skimped on across the board.
