08/2025 Updated Review Response: I appreciate the owner’s quick response here — I only wish the practice was this responsive when it comes to patient care issues.

To clarify, my frustration is not with the existence of regulations or the idea of clinical responsibility in general. I understand that providers must operate within certain frameworks. The real problem is that these policies are often implemented in a way that feels more about protecting the clinic’s liability than about actual patient safety or outcomes. For example, urine drug screening for patients with years of stable, unchanged prescriptions, with no history of misuse or diversion, comes across as a box-checking exercise rather than a personalized, clinically indicated safeguard.

When policies are suddenly changed, or new hurdles are introduced, it disrupts continuity of care and increases stress for patients who rely on these medications to function. The difference between regulatory necessity and administrative convenience is not always transparent, and in my experience here, it’s rarely discussed openly or proactively with patients.

I value my relationships with the NPs and have found the front desk staff consistently professional and compassionate. But the increasingly bureaucratic and impersonal approach to care management is what’s driving me to look for a new provider.

To anyone considering this practice: If you are stable, medication-adherent, and value a collaborative, transparent relationship with your provider, be prepared for potential frustration as administrative demands seem to outweigh individualized care.

Original Review: I grew up in Orange County and moved back to this area in 2021. My therapist at the time recommended Dr. Cabisudo and I really liked Vitality at first. But over the years, they're made continuing psychiatric care and medication management unnecessarily difficult for their patients. Suddenly changing policies around what the NPs working under Dr. Cabisudo can prescribe, and suddenly requiring urine drug screens, which are both inconvenient and kind of dehumanizing for someone just trying to live their life, see their psychiatrist regularly, and maintain safe access to maintenance medications.

I liked the two NPs who have handled my medication management, and I was treated by Dr. Cabisudo with TMS. TMS was quite a time commitment, cost my insurance a ton, and I can't say showed me much in the way of appreciable clinical results. Only changes in their own measuring metrics that seemed to have no bearing on my true clinical picture.

The frustrations they've begun causing has lead me to begin seeking out an alternative provider(s).
The front desk staff at Vitality are the only reason this is a three star review rather than two.

I saw Richard Kunz he was a great listener and very knowledgeable. He asked me questions what we need to medicate me right. I have more peace about my medication and he also mentioned options if I have concern with my meds. I would recommend this place. Give them a call or email and they get back with you fast.
