Calvary Baptist Church

I’ve been with Calvary for the past three years and I absolutely love being a member of the church. The pastors and their spouses are wonderful along with the other staff. I feel very happy there. I also found Calvary Baptist on google.

There are a lot of reasons why Calvary in Bristol is an beautiful and unique church. The preaching doesn't center around politics surrounding the election. The main pastor spends a good amount of time focusing on the Bible in context. Sometimes listening to sermons is intense because I have never heard parts of the Bible explained well. Also, the introductions even into the text immediately grab my attention. They also have a second pastor and reverend who teach occasionally, as well. All three are friendly, down to earth people, and their wives are, as well. None, from what I have seen, are not argumentative or hostile. As a millennial with a husband and kids, that is much appreciated.

As for the congregation, they are incredibly sweet and welcoming. While at the moment a bit of an older congregation, they are well grounded and full of wisdom. If you are looking for a church to bring your little kids where they will be surrounded by that grandparent type of love, this is the place. They also have a ton of wise words for younger, married couples!

They have a worship team that works hard to play each Sunday. Some of the songs are originally written by the worship leader---truly unique.

Their nursery is a sweet place filled with toys. They also have a church library filled with books.

Lastly, this church is a underated gem in the community. They try to help where they see a need. During the frigid, cold months, they actually help by housing homeless people in one of their buildings.

If you are looking for a new church which isn't overly crowded, filled with the sweetness of Christlike love, and striving to be a beacon of light, come visit. Check out their services online if you would like a peak!

Great church. The senior pastor is very organized and logical, which appeals to my style of learning. Two of the pastors on staff have their doctorates, and also teach at Cairne. This alone doesn't make good preaching, but in my opinion it is very good. The music is modern and helps me worship God each week as I should. Give Calvary a try!

I have been going to Calvary Baptist Church for over 65 yrs. You will definitely learn how to have eternal life and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ in this Church. I have experience love and nurturing and been ministered to all my life here. This church has encouraged me and taught me how to have a joyful, fulfilled life. I LOVE the people here.

The pastors, elders, deacons and members are all very nice and welcoming. I see this church as fairly conservative. They have a lot of community activities as well. You will never be neglected at this church.
