The officer sitting at the front desk with the bald almond shaped head was very rude and dismissal didn't even look at me while talking to me but the other officer was very helpful and pleasant and the women i spoke to that i handled my business with was very nice. Now as for that officers at the front if you dont like ppl or dont want to be bothered with people get a different position theres no need to be at work as miserable as you are. Other than that my experience was smooth and quick i dont even think i was in their for 10mins.. Fyi Just leave everything electronic (yes cellphones, earbuds, smart watches, tablets, etc etc etc) in your car along with any weapons..

The courthouse was built in 1873, and is a 2 1/2-story, eight bay by six bay, brick building in the Second Empire style. It features a projecting front section with pediment and a square cupola. It replaced the original courthouse that was constructed in 1815.

From the marker in front, "Pike County. Formed March 26, 1814 from Wayne County and named for Zebulon M. Pike. Its bluestone and lumber, carried by D & H Canal and by Erie R.R., helped build our nation. Famed for its natural beauty. Near Milford, the county seat, is Gov. Pinchot's Grey Towers."

Zebulon Montgomery Pike is the discoverer of Pike's Peak and was a general who was killed in the war of 1812.

The actual courthouse itself isn’t bad but the women who work in the prothonotary office are rude and not very welcoming. Some people are going in there for sensitive matters such as PFA or custody and they’re so cold. There is one who’s very nice but the rest are rude.
