It's a nice house and important historical site. Programming is a little thin. They seem to need funding.
A great little piece of history, not far from the surrounding metro areas. My son's school friends swear it is haunted. We didn't do any tours we just checked it out ourselves. Read the plaques and admired the hand built architecture.
We attended the holiday special event here this past weekend. We had a lovely time. The house is fairly small, but has been renovated a bit. It was decorated very nicely for the holiday season. The volunteers were all so nice and very friendly and helpful. The food offered was very yummy, especially the mushroom soup! They also give tours of the house on the first Saturday of the month for free.
Great tour and kind historical volunteer staff. Free tours with requested donation. The historical care for the property was top notch.
A wonderful, and delicate piece of local history. However, this wonderful home needs, and deserves some care and attention.
