1754 House Restaurant is a must-visit. The food is outstanding—don’t miss the 1754 burger or the mac and cheese with pulled short ribs; both are absolutely delicious. The drink menu is equally impressive, with great options for both cocktail lovers and non-alcoholic drinkers. Service is first-rate. Our server, Tamika, was bright, knowledgeable and very attentive. Always smiling and provided close to the best service we’ve ever experienced. Finally, the ambiance ties it all together: festive, warm, and cozy upstairs, with a live band downstairs adding extra energy and making for a perfect nightcap. An all-around excellent dining experience.
My mom and I had dinner together and it was perfect. The restaurant was cozy, the burger was amazing, and the whole atmosphere, Christmas decorations and fireplaces, was exactly what you want on a cold winter night.
We went to the restaurant the weekend of Thanksgiving. They featured a dish called "Turkey Pot Pie", which consisted of a bowl filled with canned chunks of turkey and a biscuit thrown in it. The fries were skimpy. The pumpkin soup was not good. The salad was OK. Four people ordered very little alcohol and walked out spending $300 with tip.
We needed somewhere to stay on our way to Cape Cod, so booked a night at the 1754 House. The meal we had in the restaurant was stellar - some of the best burgers ever, plus excellent service. The room was also super cute, with a really comfy bed - and it was so fun getting to trundle upstairs after our delicious meal. There were just a couple of things that kept our experience from being perfect - one, the bathroom door wouldn't fully close. It is understandable that there would be some quirks in an old house like this, but that seems like something that could be fixed. Additionally, we were told upon checking in that there would be a free breakfast available from 7-11am. Since we were hitting the road early the next day that sounded amazing.... except when we went to eat at 7:15am the door to the dining area was locked and there wasn't a soul in sight! Disappointing to say the least, we ended up leaving and getting breakfast on the road.
Tonight was our first time at this restaurant. Since COVID we have felt that there has been a drastic decline in the reliability of getting good food with good service. Our experience tonight was top notch in all aspects. Our waiter Andrew was awesome. The apps, main course and dessert were excellent. I think we have found a new favorite restaurant .
