Bennett Motor Werks

In the Seinfeld episode “The Dealership”, Jerry tells Elaine that “finding an honest mechanic is better than finding a lost Saab.” Rarer still is finding a good, reasonable & honest mechanic or auto repair shop than BENNETT MOTOR WERKS in Litchfield, CT. I’ve trusted the Bennett family with servicing my 1999 Mercedes-Benz SLK230 since I became its second owner nearly 20 years ago. Bennett Motor Werks has performed ONLY necessary repairs and maintenance at my convenience and at a very reasonable price, especially compared to Mercedes dealers. My SLK runs as well, if not better, than when I purchased it in 2006 thanks to Bennett Motor Werks which has kept my German hardtop roadster affordable to own and enjoy. As far as Mercedes and other German vehicles are concerned, you would be hard-pressed to find a better auto repair shop than Bennett Motor Werks.

Bennett was absolutely phenomenal when my BMW failed due to a water pump failure. They diagnosed the issue, worked with my (very annoying) warranty company, communicated wonderfully, and were able to make the fix ahead of schedule. Definitely returning for future work!

We have used Bennett Motor Werks for the past ten years for our VW, Audi, and Porsches. We can’t say enough about how wonderful they are! From routine service to emergency repairs they have always been honest, more than reasonably priced, and accommodating to get the work done as quickly as possible. Their work is impeccable and we recommend them to everyone we know.

I had quite the list of jobs for these guys, and it was done exceptionally well. I've been dreading getting the valve cover replaced, and they did it without any issues! My car is performing so much better, it sounds and feels like it did years ago. I felt completely heard when I put forth my concerns with the maintenance/work that I knew my car needed. These guys listened and carried out the job in a professional, high quality, and timely manner. Very knowledgable when it comes to BMWs. Prices are very reasonable too. Overall, they've definitely earned my trust.

One star removed as I tried to make an appointment recently, then when I called back to confirm a few days later, no one had any record of the appointment. The next available appointment was a full week out from when I originally planned on bringing my car in- except I had a time, and possibly safety sensitive issue so ended up having to just take it to BMW. Communication could be a little bit better. I was disappointed with my last attempt to book an appointment.
