Has it all. Great bar and sit down joint. Very thin and crisp pizza. My favorite potato pizza (recommended by the the bartender) Work trip solo at bar and was able to split the specialty large pie. Bonus!
We stopped in for lunch and were seated immediately. They have seating outdoors, at the bar and in a dining room. The staff was really nice and helpful. For our lunch I ordered the meatball parmigiana and my girlfriend had the chicken parmigiana. Both sandwiches were rather large, that was good. The sandwiches were ok, mine came with a salad and my girlfriend had the fries. For dessert we had the fried dough with sugar. Unfortunately, I did not like it. It was a bit on the greasy side and the dough did not seem right. I really liked the decor and the staff was helpful.
I own a seasonal business in Shelton so my wife and I live here 4-5 months out of the year at a hotel and eat out 7 days a week. Last week we went to Caloroso and I got Chicken Scarpiello. The dish was amazing. However the fruit flies/garbage flies were very annoying to say the least. A week later we came back because I wanted the same dish again. This time we easily had 20 flies flying around us constantly even before we got the food. They gave us bread and the flies were crawling all over everything. We asked to be moved outside which was better. I ordered the chicken scarpiello again and was told by the waiter there had been a menu change. The potatoes were no longer served with the meal they are on a separate dish. See attached picture. Looks like a plate of dog food. The dish had no flavor whatsoever and looked like it had been made by an amateur cook. We have eaten at every restaurant in a 20 mile radius for the last four months and have never seen anything like this with the flies. Call an exterminator and do something about it. Never again.
Great bar and restaurant with several televisions and very nice outdoor seating. Buffalo wings were great. Crispy and had a nice heat, buffalo comes with 3 heat levels. Zucchini fries were good, not oily. Garlic bread was mild but nice and cheesy. Kids grilled cheese was a hit with the kids. Dem Haydens sandwich was full of meat and cheese but bread was a little stale. Draft beer menu is great probably 2 dozen choices. Fried dough was the only disappointment. It was very thin and crispy, not at all what I think of when I think of fried dough. Overall a great bar especially if you are looking for nice outdoor seating. We were there late afternoon so it was quiet but filled up quickly as it got closer to dinner rush.
Food is very fresh.
Buffalo Wings were good. Quality as expected. It was a little lacking in the sauce department, but that seems to be common place these days.
Lasagna flavors were very bold. More than I expected. The sausage filling was a little salty. The meat overpowered the pasta and sauce. I don't think there was any ground beef in it. Maybe it was hidden. Either way, if you like bold, salty flavor, the lasagna would be good for you. It came with a decent salad. It helped to balance the dish.
Overall I enjoyed my meal. The atmosphere was absolutely the best. There was live music, and the bar was jumping with patrons. The outdoor eating space and decorative lighting is very inviting.
As always, my opinion is personal, and food will likely vary based on whatever you order.
I will be back and try something different.
I recommend this place as a great hangout spot. It's probably great for special gatherings.
