It was a busy Friday night. We didn't have reservations but the owner was happy to accommodate us. We had calamari, sausage & mushroom pizza, and potato pizza. Crispy crust.
Love the crispness and the extensive variety of choices for their pizzas! My newest favorite is scallops, bacon, and hot honey. They’re super accommodating too, if you have specific choices, even with specialty pies.
Man, if I lived closer to this place, I would definitely be a regular! Great happy hour specials, great draft lineup and they even had live music when we were there at 5pm on a Friday. Owners were nice and this place definitely seems like a great part of the community. They were setting up for a benefit for someone in the community while we were there which was cool to see.
Pizza was good, loved the sauce, though wish it was a bit less done. But I would definitely get it again. We also had a sundae and cookie skillet, both of which were great!
Ordered take out via Grub Hub chicken bacon ranch pizza, calamari, and bang bang shrimp. Everything tasted great. The calamari was lighted battered and cooked how I like it. The pizza had ample toppings in each bite. The shrimp photo below shows 7, but there were 8 in the order.
My passion for cuisine and cocktails as well as my many years of restaurant experience leads me here and I would be remiss if I did not review the new Cast Iron Chef Pizza & Bar … of course it’s all in the name…. The pizza is a must! I actually crave it . Loaded with toppings or not, it’s hot , crispy and consistently delicious. The complementary artisan popcorn is a scrumptious appetite stimulant and the menu has something for everyone. The nightly specials bring a bonus addition to the table at a more than reasonable price .
The atmosphere is trendy yet casual, they don’t spare with the entertainment- bingo night , great bands, and fantastic acoustic nights. I’m sure there is more to come.
The service is good. The staff are dressed neatly , are very attentive, and they look like they are having a fun time . They appear to work well together and that is a major driving force in this industry.
With all that said, I’m sure they have kinks to work out - all new places do. Nothing is perfect . Nonetheless , this is a great addition to Seymour and the Valley, and having lived there the last 20 years , and now transplanted to East Haven, I have taken the 35 min drive several times since they opened- and I drive past many great restaurants on the way !
Oh, I left out the part about the dessert….
The cast iron brownie a la mode is scrumptious :)
