I’m really sorry to feel the need to write this, but it’s completely deserved.
I have used Chris For years as my plumber. Never had a problem. He’s not much of a personality or a conversationist, but I wasn’t hiring him for that.
Last week, I called him to replace an external faucet on the side of the house. I got the bill which was $334. It really surprised me and I politely asked Chris,
“ I don’t ever remember having you change a faucet and the bill being that high before?
Is this correct?”
Chris responded,
“ If this is where we're at don't ever call me again! period! “
I’m sorry, but I’m in the service industry myself and you do not talk to your customers that way, especially when they are asking a question about a bill. Has it gotten to that point where we are not even allowed to question a bill?
I will not ever patronize Chris Sheppard Plumbing again. I hope you take this into consideration when looking to hiring him. I would recommend getting all of your price quotes upfront.
Chris replaced a shower valve for me. It was a bigger job than expected as after 20 years the handle screw was stuck and the handle needed to be cut off. He came back the next day with a replacement handle and replaced the cartridge. His price was very fair. I would definitely use him again.
Chris came to remove our disposal and replace it with just pipe, since we don't use our disposal. He was very efficient, quick, clean and friendly. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to get plumbing work done.
I found Chris through Angie's List when I needed the spigot in my backyard repaired. The spigot is at least 70 years old. When Chris couldn't find a replacement he figured out a way to semi-restore parts of it and gave me a new handle. I thought is was a creative and cost-effective way to resolve the problem. If we had went the route of completely replacing the spigot through extensive plumbing I imagine it would have been very expensive. I appreciated that Chris' used to skills to save me a lot of money. I will call him again next time I need a plumber.
Called Chris regarding what I thought were two separate pipe leaks. One pipe was the water supply for an outside faucet and the other was a pipe for the hot water baseboard heat. Chris is an honest and ethical person; after wire brushing both pipes he informed me that the top pipe (faucet water supply) was dripping on the other pipe. He could have very easily said that both pipes were leaking that would have cost well over $500.00 because the boiler would have to be drained and refilled. I will definitely call Chris back if I need a plumber and I highly recommend him for any of your plumbing needs.
