The best sausage egg & cheese EVER! I used TikTok to find this gem. Seems very family orientated , a lot of regulars. I observed the menu seems fair . I would love to come back to try some other stuff. I placed my order to go, only because I was the only person of color. But the main chef made sure my order was correct and I’m glad to have found this GEM❤️✨ Thank you

On August 15, 2025 their was a group of twelve of us who had breakfast at Monteiros Restaurant, and food was delicious, and Pam our server did an AMAZING job, and I think she deserves a total of 5 stars for her service.

One of the last few family owned & operated breakfast/lunch restaurants in the area!! Not only are they the breakfast spot but their lunches are incredible!! They actually cook fresh turkey daily for their turkey sandwiches & chef salads!! Soooo delish!! They cater to their clients like 5 star restaurant while you still feel the comfort of home!! Dine in or carry out are always fresh & delicious! We even hosted an evening event there & food was outstanding.

I have NO idea why it took so long to find this little gem! Pancakes are huge! The menu is simple diner food. Which is why they've been in business for so many years. It's done well! Definitely coming back and recommend you try this hidden gem.
Definitely not a greasy spoon diner. All the dishes coming out of the kitchen looked great. Can't wait to try more.
Prices are great for what you get.

The Town Plot Neighborhood Association in Waterbury had their annual Christmas party the other night at Monteiro's. A breakfast-and-lunch only restaurant, they do open at night for events since they also provide catering services. The space was known to locals as "Chick's" diner before the Monteiro's owned and operated it for around twenty years. The first room has counter service and a few tables, the second room has booths and tables.

The hot food served to guests for the party was pasta in red sauce, meatballs, roasted chicken and potatoes. There was also a large green salad and Italian bread slices. Dessert was a Christmas sheet cake and local Italian bakery cookies. Coffee and tea was served for hot beverages.

The meatballs were creamy in texture and had a delicate pleasing flavor. Really good. It's hard to find a meatball that is anything below excellent in Waterbury, as they all have their subtle differences. The pasta was perfectly cooked in doneness. The chicken was moist and seasoned with a nice crisp to the skin. The salad had many ingredients and a clean balanced dressing. The cake was better than most sheet cakes, and the local cookies were what everyone wants from an Italian bakery.

It's a friendly environment and menu item prices are a good value for patrons.
