This was such a nice dinner. My wife and I were celebrating our birthday and we couldn't ask for a better night. The food was spectacular, the ambience was relaxing, and service was impeccable. The chef came out and walked us through a couple dishes and really made the night for us. What a great guy! I couldn't recommend this place higher.

This review is from the perspective of foodies who love fine dining but our budget only allows for the occasional indulgence. Decided on Ore Hill for our Anniversary Dinner this year. It did not disappoint. First of all our server was Chris and he was personable attentive and just genuinely kind and friendly. Made the evening fun and special. We absolutely looooove the farm to table aspect of this place - truly almost everything you eat comes from their farm or somewhere nearby. Food was inventive, aesthetically beautiful and delicious. Wonderful and novel flavor combinations. My favorite dish was my lamb course. Flavors were a symphony on my mouth! Courses were well timed; our meal was about three hours which was a nice pace to really savor each course. Loved the surprise cheese course with the most delicious kombucha I’ve ever tasted. Our desserts were great I loved my raspberry meringues with chocolate cake. My husband chose the ‘weird’ dessert - buckwheat layer cake with squash, and tomato sorbet. I did not like it at all but it was obviously an out there choice and he loved it! He doesn’t like things very sweet. So overall absolutely worth the splurge. We’d love to come back again next June to experience a spring-centric menu!

I'd like to start off this review by saying if I could give the service 10 Stars I would have. Our server was knowledgeable, provided expert guidance and insights into our dining experience. She did an excellent job explaining the chef's preparation of each of the entrees that we had. With that being said, we decided on the prix fixe menu. Every single one of our dishes was expertly crafted, flavorful, balanced perfectly cooked and unique in its own way. Some of the highlights for the meal were the seared scallops, the foie gras, the sea bass and the eggplant. I won't go into too much detail about each of the dishes and how they were prepared as you can read it on the menu but let me just say from beginning to end the meal flowed with a increasing crescendo of flavors and left both of us wanting more. I highly suggest you check out Ore Hill in Kent! And the sister restaurant Swyft.

One thing that stood out as we were dining two tables were seated next to us. One table had a request for vegan options. The other vegetarian and our waitress provided acceptable and intriguing choices that the chef put together to meet the dietary restrictions of those guests kudos to the staff and chef!

We did the chef’s tasting menu and I also got the wine pairings. Every single wine pairing was an absolutely phenomenal complement to each dish (except for the last one, which was “merely” a good match for the dish). The Smoked Gold cocktail was definitely a highlight too. We are looking forward to returning when more produce is in season since they source it locally.

The New York Times called Ore Hill one of the top 50 restaurants in the country.

I am uncertain if that designation is accurate — there are a lot of supposedly great restaurants to which I’ve not been. But, unequivocally, we really enjoyed our dinner. The chef created some masterpiece dishes.

We enjoyed the Cappelletti and the beef. And, the bar tender hit a home run with the “Smoked Gold” bourbon beef fat washed drink. (Even if that sounds strange, try it).

Decor - Ore Hill connects to Swyft. The Ore Hill room we ate in was upstairs and had 4 tables.
