Excellent experience with Pro-Tech Fitness. My Precor elliptical (EFX5-23) started acting wonky ("catching" mid-cycle), it's >10 yrs old. I called Precor who gave me a few names. One said it was too far, the other (also located in Shelton, CT) never called or responded to my emails or voice mails (Fit-Tek). Kathy at Pro-Tech actually answered the phone and scheduled a diagnostic check within a week. Tom the repair person arrived promptly and went right to work, figuring out that the belts needed replacement. This cost 223.34 (with tax). They then ordered the parts, and scheduled me for a service within 2 weeks from the original visit. Tom again arrived promptly and fixed the machine in about 45 min. Cost was 253.58 including parts/labor/tax. I feel this service was priced appropriately and the experience was excellent. I like to fix things myself and I could have tried to do the repair myself for less but I probably would have messed it up and wasted some money and time doing that. I highly recommend this company for home gym equipment repairs.
I don't usually write reviews, but I have to do this one because Pro-Tech Fitness provided such great service during my recent move form one house to another. On a scale of 5, they are a 10!
I have used them in the past to service my treadmill, so I called them when I needed to have it dis-assembled and re-assembled for my recent move. Kathy made sure that everything was scheduled correctly (and always with a smile). However, when they came to re-assemble the treadmill after the move, the parts that they removed and carefully left on the treadmill deck were missing (lost in the move). Kathy to the rescue! She quickly ordered the necessary parts and arranged for the re-assemble as soon as they came in. As usual, the techs were right on time and quickly did the re-assemble. If you have gym equipment that needs servicing, I highly recommend Pro-Tech Fitness!
Wow, what a great experience with Pro-Tech Fitness. My 8 year old True Treadmill stopped working (smoke started bellowing out by the motor). Called True and they said that I should have Pro-Tech come out and diagnose the issue and file a warranty claim. Recognizing that this is small local business, Kathy got back to me quickly (even though she was out of the office on holiday). Tom came out and confirmed what I thought was the issue. Not only did he submit the claim for the motor, but also put in for a new running board and belt. True quickly approved and a week later they were back fixing my machine. Great communication and service throughout. I would give them 10 stars if I could. (Also a shoutout to True Fitness for standing behind their warranty).
