Hello so I just got my machine back about an hour ago from Reboot. I brought it in because I had MSI Center telling me i had around 60 deg Cel CPU Core temp after installing new newest latest bios for my motherboard. I had a feeling also prior to that I had been having higher CPU temps for a while when i was looking at Core Temp and playing Arma 3 ; and when I built this computer it was my first build ; I was wary if I had applied too much thermal paste when i initially built it back in 2020-2021 around the time of peak covid. I was worried that I kind of done a bad build but I was able to get about 5 years out of it with my build process and my thermal paste. I finally brought my computer in yesterday to have Reboot look at it, do an evaluation and I explained to them I was having too high CPU core temp at Idle (60 deg c) and that Its been a number of years and that I wanted a removal and reapplication of thermal paste service. I even questioned them on the quality of thermal paste available and they said they had at the time Artic fox MX-8 which they said they used. Anyways so i gave them this job to reapply thermal paste to my gaming computer and as I sit here typing out this review the MSI Center and the CPU temp is showing a much lower idle temps than what was previously getting (i was previously in 50s highest 60) now i'm hovering around 40 deg sometimes even dropping below that which for me makes me happy enough... i can get below 40 deg idle and it hovers between 40 and 44. (Sure when you click something it jumps that is common for all machines i believe like when booting up browser.) I am very happy with the reapplication of thermal paste job that they did and If I keep this same rig I will use Reboot again in the future for the same kind of job. I felt for the service and price the job was fantastic, and I will be able to have less in game crashes for the days i decide to play graphic intensive games. Astonishingly fair price and fantastic value. Want to also say this, they gave me feedback on my build that I applied too much thermal paste because it leached off the side of the CPU, so they cleaned that off. Its good to have someone critique your work and get feedback!!!

I had questions about how they thought i applied thermal paste for my build and they answered those. They answered all the questions I had (I had a lot of them!) I gave them a tip for the work and the guy was even willing to carry my rig for me out to my car while i opened my car door. Bristol/Plainville being a high population area, we have a fantastic amount of knowledgeable techs in CT and tbh its a competitive environment and have to say these guys are better than me at computer jobs as they had better materials and were able to wipe off the excess of thermal paste i had put from my initial build.

I said all that to say this, these techs at Reboot Computer sales and services are great imo. I will most likely use them again for the same service if i keep this computer for another 5-8 years or longer. The price i got for the job was insanely good, they told me they used premium thermal paste for the job, they did a good job from what i was able to evaluate ( I am averaging at like 10-15 deg lower cpu temps i believe from my knowledge, though i have BOTH core temp and MSI center which came with a new bios released recently),

(i don't think they will keep this job again at that low of a price i got tbh, with the way the inflation and economy is right now)
