Decent dog park with a 84 mile trail next to it. Great people here too
Just met Mikey and Christina today and had a blasttttt!
TeeTee and I are so grateful to have found this gem. The smaller area is fabulous for icebreakers or social hesitant little ones. Bravo!
Great place to let the dogs run around, and get tired. New to town have had great experiences, 1 or 2 dogs and owners probably shouldn't be allowed there lol
The little dog park section is worthless. I have a 14lb dog and we always go in the "Big Dog" area. The small part is maybe good for a Puppy's 1st time going, just for a little while to get them used to it, along with all of the scents. Nobody ever is in there. It's a good sized area with a decent amount of parking. It's shared with people using the Linear Trail as well. I'm sure parking is an issue maybe on the weekends if it's nice out. Nice, friendly people. All the the owners seemed to be responsible owners. When you visit some Dog Parks the people don't watch their dogs and some even sit in their cars! That's just pure laziness. Yiu need to watch your dog because anything can happen and you also need to clean up after your dog as well. I'd say this park had less Poop than many other dog parks that we've been to. It's great to see that.
Southington Dog Park offers a spacious field suitable for dogs of all sizes, complete with an assortment of toys and a consistent supply of fresh water. An added benefit is the segregated area designated for small dogs, promoting a safer environment. My children find it engaging to observe the canine activities. However, visitors should be aware of occasional holes in the ground, likely dug by the dogs. This minor inconvenience doesn't detract from the overall quality of the facility.
