This place is exactly what is advertised, nothing more, nothing less. The room was clean, the front desk ladies were very nice to us, and it is located about 2 minutes away from the beach and a really fantastic coffee shop. 2 minor complaints: there was a centipede in my bed which was promptly dispatched. (The room probably had not been used in a while and it was only 1) and the shower curtain is too small. Again, minor, minor complaints. Overall, a great experience for the price.
If the musty smell of old smoke doesn’t bother you, then by all means stay here. I’ve been out of there for over 24 hours and I’m still fighting the effects of sleeping in a room that smelled like old cigarette smoke. The signs all say no smoking so I don’t understand how it smells so bad inside. The room was clean, although a typical beach motel with no amenities. The office doesn’t open until 9:30am, so I had no way to get ice for the day. You have to get a blow dryer at the front desk. They could definitely use some new towels and pillows. It is in a pretty great location, and the rates were reasonable. But the smoke smell for us really made this a terrible visit.
Front desk staff is very nice, especially the man who helped me today. Housekeeping skipped my room but he got it resolved for me post haste.
Rooms are cozy & clean. Well worth the not-much money for the great location!
Highly recommend the Atlantic Motel.
I have stayed here a few times when we go fishing in the area. Never had a bad experience. Check in was quick, rooms are decent, reasonably priced, and the location is perfect for what we were there for. It could use some updating, but I'm from the area and know that finding a decent motel on the shore can be difficult at times. It is also next to one of the best seafood restaurants I've been to. We plan to stay here EVERY TIME.
My wife and I work a lot we both have 2 jobs. So having a day off together is far a few between. We love point Pleasent. So we try to at least to a few overnights and the Atlantic is perfect. Very cost effective. Clean rooms ,clean pool good location. Probably one of the most cost effective hotels in town without going cheaper and ending up in a dump. Very nice place.
