Spent the day touring here. Guard at the gate was very friendly. Other staff was also friendly and helpful. Residents all seemed very happy and lovely. There are a lot of activities!! Everyone was having fun! It is very large and you can walk from one end to the other without going outside. I watched the shuttle circle around several timeS. Restaurants all looked great. Pool and gardens and gyms delightful. I love that everyone can decorate a shelf outside their room and a name tag is underneath the door knocker. Full medical staff as well as cvs and bank are available. Chapel is gorgeous and big.

Very poor experience with a manager for one of the food services there. He was just simply rude and considering he is the manager that is not right. Everything else about the living center is beautiful. But I was not happy with the way the food service manger approached and spoke to me. It was very unpleasant.

Updated review July 2025: My mom and her husband moved into Cedar Crest two years ago. They are STILL very happy and continue to meet more and more people. The residents here are a very “high caliber” so you will live among fascinating and intelligent people. The buildings are so well-cared for. I NEVER walk around thinking this-or-that needs to be repaired, cleaned or painted. They listen to the residents and make capital updates. I enjoy visiting! Someone mentioned having a tough time parking. You have to find a spot that does NOT have “reserved” painted on it. Somedays I have to walk a little farther but I can always find a spot. A few more visitor parking spots might be helpful.

Original review: My mom and stepfather moved in almost a year ago and they have found it to be a very positive experience.

They food is very good so I was surprised at some of the older reviews. There has obviously been improvement. The variety is excellent and they have enjoyed every meal but one so far! They like going to the gym and then going to the casual cafe for lunch. They LOVE the high school kids that work in the restaurants!

All three clubhouses have been recently renovated. The decor is completely up to date and beautiful! The gathering areas look like beautiful hotel lobbies and the restaurants look like ones on “the outside.” They look forward to using the new gym in their clubhouse that was also just renovated.

They have easily made friends and enjoy dining with a variety of people throughout the week. They joined a bocce ball team and a few exercise classes. My stepfather has Parkinson’s and there is a special exercise class for the needs of those with Parkinson’s.

I like that the hallways are well heated so it’s comfortable to walk around and be in the common areas.

Mom has lived here for over 20 years. I can’t imagine anywhere that would’ve been better for her between the ages of 74 and 95. In the early years, she was active and met so many wonderful people. She had her car and drove wherever she wanted and had a lovely one bedroom apartment to entertain in. As she got older and her needs changed, she joined different groups and still had her friends to go to dinner with. Now, as she is less mobile and needs more care, she still has some wonderful options here. Yes, it is expensive. But if you can swing it, it’s worth it.
