For some reason the trail doesn't go up to the summit. If you are peakbagging it's a long bushwhack through torn bushes to get there. What's the point of climbing a mountain if you don't/can't get to the summit? Yes, I know falling short of a New Jersey "mountain" isn't the same as falling short of Everest, but still.
Fantastic Park and trails. Certain times of the year the ticks and wet can be a tad too much for even me.
I’ve driven past this trail head for years thinking it was just a 10 minute walk around a field. That’s just not the whole story. At the far end of the loop there is a interconnected trail system that goes up onto some elevation. There’s a little bit of a climb and the trail becomes a real foot path and not a road. Definitely worth the walk, it surprised me.
Fellers, now this is just a nice little get away. Don't spoil this secret gem.
Indeed lightly trafficked trail. Pretty much you go up mountain, descent on other side, same on the way back. Nice wooded rocky trail.
