I needed to find a dentist closer to home and heard great things on my local neighbors FB group about Gentle Dental in Branchburg. I had a wonderful experience! I enjoy going to the dentist anyways but, the receptionists were very friendly and Dr. Fears was great! He was extremely knowledgeable and very kind, compassionate and funny! I would especially recommend him if you are anxious or fearful about going to the dentist. He will set your mind at ease.
Chris my hygienist is very personable, thorough in cleaning my teeth and passing along information about keeping my teeth & mouth clean/healthy. Dr. Fears always makes me feel comfortable and shares every step of a procedure beforehand. I’ve had other dentists who just start in on something (checking my neck/throat for lumps or preparing me for oral surgery) and I am left wondering what was going to happen next.
I would recommend Gentle Dental to everyone.
My longtime dentist recently retired and I saw Dr. Fears for an initial visit. I found him to be kind, professional and yet also understanding. He answered all of my questions, explained things well and also told me what he recommended to be done. I feel like I can trust him and am happy to have found a new dentist that I look forward to seeing again! Everyone in the office was also very nice.
If you’re looking for a patient-first, doctor-owned dental practice, stop here. I saw Dr. Chris Fears at Gentle Dental of Branchburg and couldn’t be more impressed. From check-in to checkout, the whole team treated me like a person—not a sales target. Dr. Fears is that rare mix of exceptional skill and genuine kindness: he listened, explained options clearly, never pushed anything unnecessary, and was incredibly gentle and precise. The office runs on respect—on time, organized, and transparent—so the visit felt calm instead of stressful. You can feel the difference that comes from doctors (Drs. Fears and Brenner) actually owning the practice and standing behind the care. I left feeling informed, cared for, and confident about my dental health. If you miss real, relationship-based dentistry, this is it. Five stars without hesitation.
From my first visit, I felt incredibly comfortable with Gentle Dental. The irony isn’t lost on me but I have always felt at ease with Dr. Fears, Amy, and the entire staff. They’re not only professional but they’re personable and take time to get to know you. This is the kind of practice you make your family dentist. Happy to recommend to anyone!
