Dr. Shen did a good job listening to the issues my husband was having, giving him medication to trial and ordering a follow up procedure. However, 3 months later and we haven't been able to actually schedule the procedure despite several messages left with the scheduler. My husband even went back to the office for assistance and still nothing.

UPDATE: An office manager finally called and apologized that no one reached out sooner. A scheduler called the same day and we were able to book the procedure within a couple of weeks.

3 year update: Three weeks post another procedure and Dr. Shen has yet to call to discuss the results or next stels. They also "forgot" to call in a prescription and waited until we called them to inquire.

Dr. Shen strongly suggested that I have a colonoscopy to treat my H Pylori. Now I understand he is very good at colonoscopy and he agreed to look into a new type of capsule endoscopy that takes care of from esophagus to rectum so that the procedure is no longer invasive for human beings. I will do this type of endoscopy in 3 years to follow up my polyp. My mom, age 73, also needs colonoscopy at Upenn hospital to follow up her stage 2 colon cancer, say, once a year.

He is a very caring doctor and smart too!!

Types of Endoscopy Video Capsules
There are several types of endoscopy capsules that gastroenterologists use today. They differ based on factors such as:

Number of cameras
Quality of imaging
Recording time
Battery life
Mechanism of data transmission
One type of endoscopy capsule doesn’t use a recorder and instead has internal data storage. To collect the data, the capsule needs to be retrieved after it passes through your body. For capsules that transmit data, recovery is not necessary — these capsules are more commonly used.

My GP recommended Dr. Eric Shen and I scheduled an appointment shortly before the pandemic hit in March 2020. I had a couple of procedures including the removal of a gallstone. I was home in my own bed in a few hours, and I had absolutely no lingering effects the following day. He and the team who worked with him were great.

You removed nine polyhipes rom me on March 19,2015 . I am eighty five years old. I believe you added another two years my life expectancy. I am happy that you removed a flat type also.

Dear dr, I want to give you this information also. I have had the same operation several times last twenty years. I look over the document. My clearing degree was adequate. I did every instruction for cleaning and drank a lot of water one day before . I was expecting excellent . I want to add my comment on the one day before clearing. It may help for improving etc. I suffered badly for vomiting. Even was waiting in the hospital bed I was about to vomit. Please forgive me for passing this information.
