Shyama Mathews, MD

My experience seeing Dr. Mathews has always been exceptional. I was referred to her due to potential endometriosis and the removal of a cyst. From our very first conversation, she instantly validated all my symptoms and experiences as someone who has suffered from endo. She asked me f/u questions about things I didn’t even realize were connected but once she explained how it all works, it all made sense. She is kind, understanding, transparent, everything you could want from a doctor. I finally had my laparoscopic endo excision surgery two weeks ago where she found and removed endo. The recovery, and I know it’s different for everyone, was literally sooooo smooth. I barely had any gas pain, or much pain at all. Her office is very responsive with the online portal and promptly answers any questions you have, often within a few hours. And her team does a great job coordinating with your office to set up time off/disability for recovery. I would recommend Dr. Mathews to literally anyone and everyone.

My overall experience was extremely positive. From day one that I seen Dr Mathews, I can only talk positive things. Follow up was great. The minute I asked any questions using portal, there was someone to respond very same day. Everything from start to finish was excellent. Thank you to all involved in my surgery. From the moment I walked into the hospital I had just positive things to say. All the nurses were great.
Dr Shyama Mathews, Samantha Cauley, Jade Dennis, all the nurses and all of them who were involved with my procedure from start to finish. Dr. Shyama Mathews is extremely knowledgeable and professional. She takes the time to listen and explains everything thoroughly and I definitely recommend her. The entire staff who works with Dr Mathews is very helpful and friendly.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Mathews!!!!! I saw her for trigger point injections, and she was so encouraging and kind to me, even though I was having a full-blown meltdown every time I was in her chair. She helped me through that ordeal and was super willing to connect me with other doctors with different expertise to investigate further, which I appreciated. Samantha, who I believe is a nurse at the practice, has also been excellent and has gone above and beyond to help me with referrals for local testing (I'm in Philly), and I just love them all!!!!

I had been going to my OBGYN with symptoms that were often dismissed and did not feel heard. Dr. Matthews was incredible, she listened to me and really made me feel assured. She was responsive to my concerns and helped come up with a treatment plan. She was so kind and a wonderful bedside manner which is rare to find these days. I walked out of there feeling better than I have in a long time. Thank you Dr. Matthews!

Several years ago Dr. Mathews performed a minimally invasive surgery successfully on me when several other surgeons insisted it had to be done in a much more invasive way. I since utilize her for my regular annual exams as well. Dr. Mathews has always been kind, compassionate, knowledgeable and professional. I highly recommend her!
