Most people go to a dealership because they want a car. Others go because they truly need one and have limited options. That was my situation. I have kids, and I did not want an older car that could break down early. I wanted something reliable, and the car itself has been good.

The staff was nice and respectful, and they worked with our credit to get us approved, which I appreciate. We negotiated the price at $18,000, and I believed that was the amount being financed. Later, I realized the total amount financed was actually over $21,000, though not quite $22,000, due to fees and financing. We are still paying on the car.

I take responsibility for not fully understanding every detail in the contract. At the same time, many people who go here are in similar situations, with poor credit, cash income, or no pay stubs, and may not fully understand how quickly the total cost can increase. It is easy to get caught up in the moment and the excitement of getting approved.

I am sharing this so others can be aware, slow down, ask questions, and be diligent. Make sure you understand the full amount you are financing, not just the negotiated price. While the staff was kind, I would not personally return to purchase another vehicle.
