We always LOVE Rod's. However, this time they sat us in the Red Dog Tavern for lunch.
The ambience is like sitting in any dark-wood bar in the world, meaning nothing special. We are used to the fabulous décor in Rod's and were underwhelmed.
There was some confusion between the 2 waitstaff persons as to who was taking care of us; they were both ok, but it led to poor service. Our first server forgot one of our drinks, which was ok, but then she disappeared. After quite some time she eventually took our order and then never returned. The food came -- and that was delicious -- but no one ever came back to ask if we wanted OR needed anything else. Another server finally came back to ask if we wanted coffee. Desserts were wonderful, but again we were consistently ignored until we were presented with the check.
I was embarrassed because i had told my guests about the wonderful service we were used to at Rods.
We'll definitely go back to the main restaurant, but will not return to the Red Dog.
The host was absolutely fantastic and very accommodating... he found us a booth where we could sit with our child while being personable and social... the food was good but a little on the pricey side... the staff was excellent overall had a nice lunch outing with wifey.
It is a casual yet high end place. Organized and busy. The food was delicious. I had a guacamole appetizer and end up having two. I had the Churrassco it was cooked medium to perfection. I went with family. Outstanding. Great staff and service!
Food and staff were excellent. It did have the “sticky tavern” feel with many surfaces being what I would consider “dirty”. You know the kind where you put your drink down and the cup sticks to the bar? That kind, but the floor and the table also.
9/10 would go back but for the price and hype you would think it would be freshly cleaned.
This was a great place to eat. I loved the feel of it. The buildings architecture was very inviting. I had a Kobe beef burger and it lived up to my expectations. The staff was very friendly also. The meal did take quite a long time to me however the waiter slept giving us updates and apologized for the wait. I would definitely recommend this place.
