Hangar 21 Tavern Restaurant and Pizzeria is one of those places that sneaks up on you in the best possible way. The pizza here is legitimately good, and when we ask for it well done, the crisp is absolutely perfect. I am talking that beautiful crunch that makes you nod your head like you just discovered fire. The pizza alone is a home run.

The service is solid too. The staff gets the job done and does it with a smile. No complaints there.

Now let’s talk about the clientele. The crowd definitely leans older, which is not a bad thing at all. In fact, they are some of the most social people you will ever meet. You could walk in with a group of ten and still find yourself talking to the table next to you within minutes. They love to mingle, and they have no problem dragging you right into the conversation whether you are ready or not.

And these conversations? Buckle up. One minute you are hearing war stories, the next minute someone is sharing a very detailed memory that has absolutely nothing to do with war. The shift is fast, unpredictable, and honestly pretty entertaining. You will learn more about strangers in twenty minutes at this bar than you have learned about some coworkers in five years.

The rest of the food is good as well, but the pizza is clearly the star of the show. The location is great and parking is plentiful, which is a beautiful thing in itself.

One small thing to keep in mind: if you show up right when they are supposed to open, maybe give them a few minutes. Sometimes it feels like the whole crew collectively hit the snooze button on the alarm clock and needed a moment to gather themselves. It happens, and honestly, it kind of adds to the charm at this point.

All in all, Hangar 21 is legit. It is a decent, friendly, slightly unpredictable spot with great pizza and an even greater cast of characters. Definitely worth coming back to.

We had a great experience for our repast. The buffet which Sal suggested was delicious and enjoyed by all. The service was attentive and professional. The price was very reasonable for a large group. The dining area reserved for us was quiet and felt like a private space. Highly recommended Hangar 21 Tavern for gatherings.

Went to celebrate belated Birthdays with some friends. Decided to try this place, went for the early bird specials, we each ordered a cup of mushroom soup and 6 appetizers. Food did NOT disappoint! It was presented well, hot and very tasty. My fav was the garlic/parm wings, yum!
Our server Marco was extremely attentive, atmosphere was delightful, clean and comfortable. The "manager" stopped by the table to check on everything and to chat. I also saw her walk thru the bar area and do the same with patrons that were there as well. Prices were reasonable i would give it another go for a dinner, they offer a special on Thursdays with Prime Rib.
Added: across the street we noticed a small Mexican restaurant/store and a customer mentioned how great the food was there dine in or take-out. Didn't get the name but it's on Union St as well.

I really love the food here. It is unique and tasty, but I am disappointed in the way it is run by management. That is the reason I am giving it two stars. Everything I've ordered was phenomenal and have been a return patron for awhile. But, I have to manage my diet to a point. No substitutions are allowed. None. I was not allowed to substitute a vegetable that is in their for the rice that came with main course not even for an extra charge. Shameful. What's even worse was that I was told one night when they were running a special they did not have enough for the appetizer but if I ordered the entree at twice the money I would get the featured vegetable. The kitchen made it clear that if you paid the price they wanted them you got what you wanted. What happened to preparing the featured item until you ran out and eventually substituted that item with something else on the menu. The law of supply and demand should prevail, not who pays the higher price. Very disappointing. I hope they got stuck with several extras that night. That's the last time I will order a special. I may even take my business. Customer service is still important and has not died yet. You may get what you want but you will pay for it!

Excellent dining experience from the moment you walk in the door. The food and drinks are equally delicious. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming and inviting. Highly recommend for a family dinner or a night out for apps and a drink. I have also ordered catering for events and received rave reviews from both family and friends.
