Laura has been amazing with my son! He is on the spectrum and recently started verbalizing, and her approach has made such a difference. He absolutely loves the pig toy she uses, which has been a fantastic way to engage him and make therapy enjoyable. Laura’s patience and creativity are incredible, and we are so grateful for her support!
Laura worked with my son, aged 6. She was patient and kind. He looked forward to each session and talked excitedly about the activities they completed together. He had no idea he was working on skills, he just thought it was fun with play with Laura. Laura put all my anxiety at ease and gave me ways to support my son at home. The fact that It Takes a Village participates in our health insurance was a great plus, but we would have paid out of pocket for the care give. To our family. I highly recommend It Takes a Village!
Laura is amazing at this. Not only did she answer any and all questions I had and made me feel at ease but she is so great with my son. He is a shy child and she was able to cater to his needs to help him open up. She was able to pinpoint his speech deficits immediately upon just a few words exchanged between him and I. She made me feel confident that some of my initial concerns were a non issue. I also respect and appreciate her ethical approach to only truly addressing areas of need and not taking advantage of a vulnerable situation, pushing for more therapy that isn't needed. Overall it has been a great experience for both parent and child!
Laura is absolutely amazing. We worked with her for two years early on in my son’s speech journey and she was one of the best things that ever happened to us. Laura is kind and patient and built incredible rapport with my son, navigating his individual needs and giving us the tools and strategies we needed to communicate. My son is thriving and the foundation we had working with Laura is a big reason why. I cannot recommend Laura enough as an SLP!!
Laura was amazing from the start. Virtual therapy was completely uncharted territory for us and she made the whole experience from beginning to end smooth and enjoyable. We even had an issue with our insurance and she went above and beyond to help us though it without once making us feel like we were an inconvenience. We had several therapists before Laura who could not properly diagnose our son so we were not seeing much progress with our sessions. We met Laura and she was able to immediately diagnose our son with Phonological Processing Disorder. We were so relieved to finally have a therapist who understand our sons needs and finally had a plan.Within just a few weeks we saw SO much improvement. She connected with my son and was able to always reengage him. We absolutely love Laura and would definitely recommend her.
