The trail that is along the river (not referring to the Columbia rail trail) is stunningly beautiful but not bike friendly. I think the condition must have deteriorated in the past year or so based on what I’ve been reading online. I’d give it 5 stars for beauty. 1 Star for cycling friendliness. Info online should be updated. Maybe signs should be posted to mention that at each end. This was listed as an alternative cycling route parallel to the rail trail and described as a one lane road that is closed to vehicular traffic. It is not bike friendly for the average cyclist. But it truly is beautiful.

This was a very beautiful trail and I would highly recommend taking this. We wrote about 15 miles of the Columbia Trail, and this was by far one of the best trails that I’ve ever seen. If you were riding on this trail, I would highly recommend stopping into the pulled fork restaurant as they have very good barbecue! There was lots of nature to see on this trail, and it was very peaceful. Looking down below, you could see the river that runs parallel to the trail, which gave stunning views! I like to ride my bikes on long trails throughout the tri-state area and this one by far is very comparable to other trails in the area such as Sandy Hook, Cape Henlopen, And the Atlantic Highlands. If you’re looking for a bike trail or a hiking trail, I would highly recommend stopping in.

Short maintained trail, met occasional 6ft great blue heron. Very beautiful and dog friendly! Park at the lot on Raritan River Rd.

Hidden gem, scenic, and picturesque. Great place to go for a morning walk. You will see runners and people walking their dogs. It's clean and well maintained. Visit lake solitude while you are there, it'll be a perfect mini day trip.

It’s a nice place to walk along the water stream and the tall trees providing you fresh air.
