Our family have been with the church since 2012. Since then we have found a wonderful church family. Lots of mission and outreach. They have a great preschool too: Learning Path Preschool
Everything Scott McPherson says is true! We came to this church years ago when our children were babies. It was and continues to be a friendly church family of all ages with lots of hands on mission opportunities available for everyone. Now that our children are grown, I can truly say, MUMC has been the most integral part of the "village" that helped us raise our children the way we wanted.
Middletown United Methodist Church ("MUMC") provides so many opportunities to give back to others in need. Whether it be through Family Promise, a program designed to feed and shelter families in need or Goodness Now, a program that supports a local school by providing backpacks filled with food for children to get them through the weekend, there are many opportunities to help others.
MUMC provides a warm, welcoming and friendly environment. When my wife and I were looking for a Church to raise our children in, we could not get over how friendly everyone was to us on our first visit. Since that time we have made life-long friends, all as a result of attending MUMC.
MUMC has a Sunday School program that meets during the 9:00 service for children from pre-kindergarten through 8th grade and a Youth Group that meets on Sunday nights. My wife and I love the convenience of having Sunday School occur during the worship service. Our kids love participating in the Message Bag, a weekly part of the service where a child gets to bring the bag home one week and back the next week with something from home which Pastor Derrick will then talk about.
There are two services, a contemporary service at 9:00 with music provided by a band (that is phenomenal). If you are looking for a more traditional service, the 10:30 service has an organist and choir.
Pastor Derrick Doherty is very approachable regarding any subjects and I have seen him time and again go above and beyond to help others in need.
