The only reason I still use this practice is because despite being a Sussex County resident, I like Morristown hospital. My first pregnancy was super normal and healthy, so most visits were quick and unproblematic.
HOWEVER My first appointment at 8-9 weeks I was “prescribed” Unisom for nausea. It was a handwritten prescription that didn’t specify the drug name, and I know for a fact they didn’t specify in the appointment. I had NO IDEA that “Unisom” offers two different types of drugs. They should have written doxylamine. I had taken the wrong type for several months and didn’t realize until I went to Walgreens for another bottle MONTHS LATER and was freaking out realizing there’s two types. What kind of doctor doesn’t use the DRUG NAME on an official prescription paper, knowing Unisom DIFFERS? Thankfully the other type is “generally” safe and my baby was born perfect, but DAMN! This should be enough to make me switch, but it’s slim pickings around here.
Also, they have pre-printed dental clearance forms that they send out, no questions asked. My oral surgeon did not like this. My oral surgeon expressed more concern about the effects of lidocaine on my baby in the first trimester than this OBGYN office did. I called, explained my situation, and they told me they “have forms that we always send out”. Ummmmm okayyyy why is the dentist more concerned for my baby than you are? I prodded and asked, you really have nothing further to say about risks I should consider concerning my baby? Nope. No dialogue. No conversation.
My previous delivery went great, the hospital was great, and so was Dr. Moorely. I guess that’s what I care about most, as I’m pretty good at advocating for myself and now won’t be putting up with any BS at appointments. So case in point, if I find a better option I will be switching, but right now this is what location is convenient for me and I’m confident in myself, but probably wouldn’t recommend this office based on the people or their practices, unless you and your baby are 100% healthy and you are also a somewhat “difficult” patient like me ;)
Amazing doctors and staff personnel. They are always polite, attentive, empathetic and knowledgeable. All my questions were always answered without hesitation or bother. The MDs/NPs, medical assistants are all the best! Always smiling, courteous and cheerful.Thank you for all you did and continue doing for the community.
