Poppy’s Ice Cream in Barnegat Light is absolutely worth the wait. Yes, there’s usually a line (especially after dinner), but it moves steadily and the ice cream is always worth it. It’s a fun, classic summer stop that feels like part of the LBI experience.

My go-to is the Chocolate Thunder—it’s rich, chocolatey, and packed with flavor. If you’re a chocolate fan, don’t skip it. The portions are generous, and they have a great mix of classic and creative flavors, so there’s something for everyone. You can get cups, cones, sundaes, and even dairy-free options.

Staff is friendly and fast, even when it’s busy. There’s a nice little outdoor area where you can sit and enjoy your ice cream. It’s a great spot to end the night if you’re in Barnegat Light or nearby.

Great spot on LBI. Near the lighthouse so stop here first or second. Plenty of seating and great choices. They have the Jersey Shore flavor and it is amazing!

Delicious Ice cream with creative flavors! Definitely one of our favorite places to go when we are near Barnegate Light . Staff was friendly and the line moved quick. And there is both indoor seating and outdoor seating . Although, I wish the portions were a little larger. This was 2 scoops :( not quite the same value as others in the area. But it had great flavor
