what a amazing experience, I sent my son Salvatore in to get pizza after football . They were so welcoming and friendly and family style and really made him feel very special . We saw the name sal's so I said hey Sal you want to go to Sal's. My sons grandpa is right from Sicily and sal loves talking about grandpa. So just wanted to say thank you for making my son feel very happy.
🍕 Unexpectedly the best pizza in Toms River—hands down.
I was first introduced to Sal’s by a client of mine who treated our crew to lunch during a project. He brought us a Sicilian pie from Sal’s, and although I didn’t get to try it fresh out of the box, I grabbed a slice later in the day when it had cooled to that “not-quite-warm” stage. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much—but the moment I took a bite, I was blown away. Even slightly cold, the pizza was packed with flavor, fresh, and perfectly balanced. I immediately went for a second slice.
The next day, I found myself craving it again. That’s when I knew I had to find out where it came from. When I saw the client again, I asked him the name—and sure enough, he pointed me to Sal’s and told me to speak to anyone there because the whole staff is great.
He was right. The hospitality was top-notch, and when I ordered my own Sicilian plain pie, it confirmed everything—I had found my new go-to. I’ve eaten a lot of pizza in Toms River over the years, and Sal’s instantly became my #1. I live off pizza, and this place jumped to the top of my list with one bite.
If you’re in Toms River and love pizza, do yourself a favor—go to Sal’s.
My family and I visit Sea Side Beach a couple times a year. After we pack it up and head home we always stop at Sal’s Pizza. It is our tradition.
The cheese steak slice is excellent. Good quality meat. The buffalo chicken is no
Joke either. Juicy chicken and none of that chewy garbage you get at other places. Crust was excellent.
Made a 2nd stop here. There might be a 3rd and then we will sit down at home to judge and award today's top to bottom.
Kit had the Grandma Slice and I chose the Deep Dish withe sausage, pepperoni, bacon and diced tomatoes.
It was more of a white pizza with minimal or no sauce since I couldn't taste any. Guess the diced tomatoes replaced the sauce.
Both slices were delicious.
Kit enjoyed her slice because she could taste it here vs Pondrelli's who's crust and cheese did not allow the taste to come through.
If we do get to the last place, the decision to see who gets the Gold, Silver or Bronze will be announced.
