Stillwater Township Municipal Building

ON, 01/27/2026 ( 3 days after the super storm) I went to the township for HELP!! I am a realtor, I have been trying to CLOSE a home sale for weeks! Now the buyer was going to lose their interest rate, and have to re -apply for a mortgage ( even though this was not their fault) I walked into the Township, and explained to both Dawn Tigue & Terry Beshada the problem which was a "payoff" from a very old mortgage could not be found! Both Terry and Dawn started trying to help, finally Dawn searched the recorded documents with the County. I thought, "everyone has already done this many times", but lets look again. I almost passed out! Dawn is reading from her computer, she says is the mortgage from PHH? I could not beleive it! What had happened is that the buyers attorney had hired a Docusearch Company. They had mailed to the County the final payoff from TEXAS ( in a snow storm)! The document arrived on 1/21 and was recorded on 1/22! However, no one had informed us the status of this document. I think it would have taken another month before we could close, if not for Dawn. I was shocked!! I ran home and sent the Payoff to both attorneys, immediately they asked to schedule the closing for 1/29/ 2026 and in fact that is what we acually did!! If Dawn had not found that document, the buyers would have had to re apply for a mortgage, this probably would have taken 6 weeks. All involved were very grateful to DAWN TIGUE, she absolutely saved the day !!!! Never under estimate how a town can help you, they can be invlauable, as was the case this time! We've had another great experience with Dawn in the past couple of weeks. She's to the point, honest and willing to help- even if it's not always the news we want to hear. We've been working with her, Tom D and a few others in Stillwater for a long time. The experience has been great. Certainly not an easy job and the rules are certainly not made by Dawn and Tom. I am in the process of helping a good friend of mine purchase a property on N. Brooklake/Bridge Tr. It’s a vacant piece of land, and to say it has been a challenge to fully understand would be an understatement.

There were many questions — and for a while, very few answers — until I visited Borough Hall and was introduced to Dawn.

I have been to the town twice this week, and Dawn could not have been more helpful or knowledgeable. Not only is she professional, pleasant, and extremely informed, but she also made me feel completely comfortable as she took valuable time out of her day to ensure I received the answers I needed. Her willingness to assist is the reason I felt compelled to write this email and let you know what an asset she is to the town.

I have been selling real estate since 1986 (ouch), and Dawn is truly at the top of my list of all-time town representatives.
