The hike would be nice and medium difficulty but it was very overgrown and not maintained at all. There's some rocks and elevation but its relatively short and sweet, if it would be maintained properly.
Relatively short trail (1.5 mi loop) that has some rocky areas but not too difficult. We hiked this with our 4-year-old, and he did fine. No views of the lake along the way (we thought there would be), and the trail is pretty narrow most of the time, so you’re basically walking through ferns, grass, thorny weeds.
Small lot limited sight lines along roadway (be careful pulling in/pulling out. Grist Mill is a historic structure and hopefully will be rehabilitated, but for now, just an interesting photo op.
Nice view of lake and dam. Limited site distance coming out of parking lot.
Nice old place. Lots of history..
1833, and yes it's scribed on the block, right side.. Ya that's what's all about.
Do recommend a stop for a look see. Enjoy
