Tatum Park is a beautiful place to enjoy the outdoors. The trails are well-maintained, peaceful, and perfect for walking, running, or hiking. There’s plenty of open space, picnic areas, and scenic views that make it a great spot for families, friends, or solo visits. The park is clean, safe, and has a relaxing atmosphere. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking to spend time in nature.
The park is a reliable option to get your weekly dose of fall hiking. Variety of trails to enjoy hilly woods trails or meadow walks. Note that archery deer hunting is permitted from Oct 1 almost everywhere in the park. My hike included popular park trails like Tatum Ramble and Meadow Run, but at the time of the hike in early November I liked most Dogwood Hollow trail in terms of fall foliage.
Great park. Miles of hiking trails. Areas to do birding as well. Usually not very busy. You can park either at the Holland Rd. Lot or at the Red Hill Rd lot. Both locations have a bathroom. Red Hill Rd lot has a playground.
Beautiful medium sized park with five trail loop options split between open meadow paths and smaller paths through the woods. Trail loops range from 1-2 miles long but it's easy to mix and match trails to make a longer walk. Majority of the trails are flat without too much rough terrain and are considered "easy" to "moderate". Would recommend for running/jogging or just casual walks.
This is a great place for a mental break. I stopped here on a whim and ended up spending two hours.
There are lots of little (short) trails to explore that are interconnected; each has its charm.
Dog Wood is beautiful and quaint, lots of great smells and sounds. It was short, but my favorite.
From God Wood I got onto Tatum Ramble, which was nice for checking out New Jersey's tall trees. This trail is wider and had a few bikers on it. It is a bit longer and connected to Meadow Run and Indian Springs.
Meadow Run is the longest trail. It connects the meadows of the park, which all kind of look the same. If you are shorter on time, I recommend the other trails first, unless you really love meadows.
Indian springs is a cute narrow trail that makes you feel as though you are sneaking through the woods. I really enjoyed this one, but it goes along the road for quite a bit which can be noisy.
I only have this park 4 stars because it is on the small side, there is some road noise, and I found some of the directions a bit confusing. Overall it is a Great place for a day walk -- not at all challenging and quite relaxing. It is well worth a visit.
