The Monmouth County Parks are so wonderful. Tatum has a few paths to take, by meadows or through the woods. You have to loop around to get longer distances but it’s a very manageable, lovely hike.
Gardens really nice and restrooms are immaculate.
Holland Activity Center is former summer home of Charles Tatum family. Parking area is a good access point to many trails of the park, there are a few picnic benches and nice restrooms in the center. Hiking is relatively easy even in hilly Tatum Ramble area since elevations are easy to handle.
Lovely place for a walk! Dozens of different trails to choose from. Easy to walk and beginner friendly! In spring and summer you'll see lots of tulip trees, milk thistle and red clovers.
It's definitely more of a walk than a hike. Not much elevation or pretty scenery. Perhaps in the springtime with flowers it would be much more eye appealing. But it does start at a location with a beautiful facility.
