I recently brought my seven-pound dog to Dr. Monaco for surgery to treat ovarian remnant syndrome
As a clinician, I came in with a lot of detailed questions and concerns, especially regarding anesthesia, hypothermia, and hypoglycemia risks in a small dog. I know I was probably a bit of a “pain” with how many questions I asked, but Dr. Monaco was straightforward and clear throughout the process.
Most importantly, the surgery went extremely well, and my dog is now doing great. I’m genuinely grateful for his expertise, his team, and the excellent outcome. Dr. Monaco is an outstanding surgeon, and I appreciate the quality of care she provided.
Can't thank them enough for helping with Nova's surgery! I went in because of the glowing reviews and they by far exceeded them. Walking in I thought this is better than my doctors office...nothing but the best for my fur baby. Anyway I hope everybody in that office hits every green light, their pillows are always cold, and their coffee cup is always full.
Vantage surgery had been so helpful and attentive to all the details that I needed to know for my dog’s ACL surgery ! Tara, Liz and Cortney have been terrific! Dr. Monaco is so professional and thorough in explaining TPLO procedure to us. Lily has done fantastic because of Dr.Monaco! Thank you very much
for your expertise and dedication and your dedicated team as well!! Definitely, refer to others!
We are so grateful for Dr. Monaco and the team at Vantage Vet. About a year ago, our dog Kobe injured his knee (luxating patella) after a fall. We went to multiple consults in the city, but the experiences were either outrageously expensive or left us feeling uneasy - one doctor tried to scare us into immediate surgery, while another brushed it off even though Kobe was clearly limping.
Dr. Monaco was completely different. He was warm, thoughtful, and explained everything in a way that made us feel informed and comfortable. He told us Kobe was okay for now but would eventually need surgery - and that doing it sooner could improve his quality of life while he was young and active. There was no pressure, just honest, compassionate guidance. We decided to move forward, and the surgery went so smoothly. Kobe has been running, playing, and living happily ever since.
Fast forward to now - after another fall, Kobe injured his other knee (which we knew was a possibility). Without hesitation, we called Dr. Monaco for a consult. It was the easiest phone call to make, and we felt completely at ease knowing he and the amazing Vantage Vet team are there for us again.
Whether or not Kobe needs another surgery, we feel so confident and grateful to have found Dr. Monaco, Tara and the team. They truly care about both their patients and the families who love them. Highly recommend Vantage Vet to anyone looking for expert, compassionate care.
For years, I watched my dog struggle—misdiagnosed, misunderstood, and left in pain by multiple hospitals. Every vet seemed to have a theory, but no one had a real answer. That is, until we met Dr. Monaco and his incredible team at Vantage Veterinary Surgery. I have to say, we had an appt scheduled for May 16 but I got a call on Sunday May 4 from them (they were closed) and they asked if we could get Connor in there on Tuesday, May 6 because Doctor Monaco had looked at his records and x-rays.
Dr. Monaco didn’t just look at the problem—he saw it. With precision, expertise, and a level of care I had NEVER experienced, he diagnosed my boy’s torn cranial cruciate ligament—an injury that had been overlooked for years. Dr. Monaco performed the surgery with surgical mastery, restoring stability to our dog’s leg and giving him the pain-free life he deserves.
Let’s talk about the team—the glue holding it all together. From pre-op to post-op, they were a force of compassion and competence, ensuring every detail was handled seamlessly. Their communication was clear, empathy genuine, and commitment to our dog’s recovery unmatched.
The result? A dog, Connor, who is finally back on his feet—strong, steady, and happy. Watching him walk and try to run again (he cannot run until 10 wks after surgery , we are at 6/7 wks) after years of discomfort was nothing short of miraculous.
To anyone facing a long, frustrating road of misdiagnosis or any type of orthopedic issue with their pet, please hear my words: Vantage Veterinary Surgery is where you need to go. Dr. Monaco is a surgeon who knows his craft, his team is the right hand you didn’t know you needed, and together they are the team who can change your dog’s life.
I cannot thank them enough for giving Connor the chance to move pain-free again. They are, quite simply, the best.
