Easy trails. Beautiful park but the lake water is no more, very sad.

This park on Long Island, New York, is one of the best I’ve ever visited. It’s got a huge open space and one of the biggest dog parks I’ve seen. I went for a 10-mile hike around the lake and saw so much nature, deer, chipmunks, and horses. It’s easy to download the map of the park, and there are so many different trails for dogs to enjoy. I hope the water can return to the lake someday. There are also camper areas, BBQ, and bathrooms. If you’re ever in Hauppauge, you definitely need to check this park out!

We used to enjoy fishing here, but sadly, the water has been drained after the dam broke in August. Despite this, we visited for the nostalgia and were pleased to find that the trails remain wonderful. The area still offers a serene and scenic environment for hiking and exploring. We even spotted some deer along the trails, which was a delightful surprise.
You can bring your dog on a leash, making it a great spot for pet owners. Plus, there’s no fee on weekdays, which is a nice bonus. Overall, it’s still a lovely place to visit for a peaceful walk in nature.
