I just love going to Canarsie Pier every summer! It is so peaceful and serene just sitting there looking out on the water. It makes you think and helps to reduce stress. I recommend going to this place very highly!

Looking for a place to relax? Canarsie Pier is just the spot. You can take a peaceful walk along the path, or if you’re an avid fisher, bring your gear and enjoy a day by the water. The pier also features a play area for kids and plenty of seating areas to sit back and unwind. Many people host outdoor events there as well. There’s lots to do and plenty of memories to create—visit for yourself and share your own experience!

Brought Wife #3 to Canarsie Pier to clear the air after she found a mystery chai receipt from Qahwah House in my car — dated her birthday… but not with her name on the mobile order.

We came here for “fresh air and closure,” but I knew I was entering court proceedings without legal representation. She had that silent-wrath energy. The type where she opens the trunk before the car stops just to make a point.

We’re walking the pier. I try breaking the ice.
“Look at that sunset… SubhanAllah, right?”
    She says,
    “SubhanAllah that you’re still alive.”

I start fumbling a speech about Qadr, rizq, and how the Prophet used to frequent marketplaces… but she’s not having it.

Right then, this random old fisherman — full white beard, kufi, smells like sea bass and barakah — turns to her and goes:
“Daughter, forgive your husband. Sometimes the fish bite other lines, but he’s still holding yours.”

She pauses. I pause. We both try to figure out if that was wisdom or a warning.

Then he pulls out a fresh grilled snapper wrapped in foil and offers it to her. Says:
“He stood here all day catching this for you.”
(Lies. I’ve never touched bait in my life.)

    She takes it. Smells it.
Says: “…Fine. But you’re driving me to my mom’s after this.”

I nod like a man who just dodged a haram death.

Canarsie Pier delivered: fresh catch, fake fishermen, and fragile forgiveness.
10/10. Might bring Wife #1 here next week — if the fish are biting.

I grabbed some food and decided to take the kids for a Saturday family time. The place where we bought food didn't have a seating area so we just looked for the closest place to enjoy a meal in the outdoor. This was the first time we visited Canarise Pier, and I really enjoyed it. There was a big parking lot and it wasn't crowded at all. The view of the water was refreshing and much needed after a long, stressful week. There is a green area where bikers ride around its trails. There is also a small playground for youngsters to enjoy. Very nice place that I would definitely take the family to for a day out.

Nice spot to kick it alone or with someone/ buddies.
During the fall/winter it’s peaceful and quiet.
When the weather starts to warm up, not so much. Unless you come early in the morning. Enjoy ☺️
