Charles Memorial Park (Gateway National Recreation Area)

My mom had driven me to this park, and that both of us got off the car and walked around the park and that it was a nice and sunny day, there were people in the park doing things like playing tennis in the tennis courts, and that both of us saw planes landing and taking off.

It's a nice park. You have tennis courts, handball and a play ground. There is a field there to play baseball or what ever. Picnic tables. There is a small beach to walk. There are bathrooms during park hours. Overall its a nice park to spend the day. My only issue is the beach is not as clean as it used to be but not because of the parks people but the people that come to do rituals they pollute the area and dont clean up behind them. It's sad that humans destroy things. Me and my daughters always pick up when we go there. It's always good to help when you can.

It used to be amazing and parts of it still are but it's dirty now. The federal government should be ashamed of what it let it become. It need cleaning and monitoring from the people who literally dump food and garbage into the water. My husband cut is foot on glass and my dog ate flowers that were not good for her all in one walk on the beach.

Great place for a walk and just relaxing with nature. The water view is very calming. There is a playground for the kids and sprinkles in the summer. Big space for tennis and basketball to.

This park is very nice and not too crowded, good place to go there with familu also if you a lover of planes you can see them while JFK Airport using runway 31L for take-off. Good place to do exercise or play tennis. There is free parking.
