Amazing and beautiful location, the rooms are rundown, I got a king waterfront view and was really in bad condition, a lot of mold in the shower, the tent is also not in a condition that you would expect a 600$ glamping room to be.
The worst part is the service though, front desk people are simply bored to be there, restaurant waiter was rude and didn’t even took my plate when the main course arrived, we put them ourselves in the table next to us, just for context the restaurant was half empty. First time in my life I give less than 15% tip in a restaurant.
Then at night when you would expect to experience the quiet silence of governor island there was a huge latin-american concert with bass that was making the room vibrating until midnight.
That’s the reason why there are earplugs in the room. Apparently concerts in governor island are very common. All in all we loved the experience during the day but not worth the money and definitely not reflecting what they claim on the website

We had a truly wonderful stay! The views from our cabin were fabulous even with a nor’easter rolling in — the stormy gray skies only added to the unique experience.

The accommodations were comfortable and well-appointed making it easy to relax, regardless of the weather. What really set the place apart was the staff. Everyone was generous and extremely helpful, especially when it came to honoring the lower rates I found online! They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable and stress-free and gave us a free upgrade to a cabin, which was so awesome. The onsite restaurant had great food and cocktails too!
Shout out to Kelly for being such a doll and driving us around in her golf cart!

Despite the wild weather, we still had a fantastic time. The views were cool and dramatic, and the staff‘s hospitality made all the difference. We want to return in the summer! Highly recommended!

First of all, the location is stunning—definitely one of the best views you can have of Manhattan. Because of that, we really enjoyed our stay here.

When it comes to the accommodation itself, however, things go a bit downhill. The tents feel run-down: the rugs are dirty, and the extra blankets were full of grass and soil. The grounds, overall, lack TLC.

The main issue is with the wet rooms. Most of the tent zippers don’t work, which means you literally have to use the toilet in full view of people walking by. The same goes for the showers—since the tent doors don’t close, anyone passing can see you naked. Only one or two bathroom tents can actually be zipped up (or almost zipped), which is simply not acceptable.

All in all, this is more camping than glamping. We loved our stay for the fantastic view, but would we come again? Rather unlikely. Maybe for the smorres ;-)

Had a positive experience during our glamping stay.
We camped Sunday to Monday, which seems to be less busy, cheaper, and quieter according to reviews. I think off-peak times are a much different experience.
Once you arrive to Governor's Island, you can text the concierge and they will quickly arrive in a golf cart to bring your bags and give you a ride to the grounds. If you have heavy luggage, you’ll want to take advantage of this because it’s a decent walk.
They have yard games, hammocks, a bar and restaurant on the grounds. The bathrooms were nice and clean. The food was good, but again…you can only do so much on an island, so don’t be blown away. Friendly staff all around. My only complaint was that I had a lot of mosquito bites at night, but my wife didn’t get bit at all!
Overall it was a fun experience, and you can’t beat the views…something only unique to NYC

Spent a very romantic night in one of the tents. We had a great view of the Statue of Liberty. The food in the collective dining room was outstanding. Island oyster also on Island had delicious oysters. Rooms aren’t very clean as is the bathroom, the bed was very comfortable the towels and the sheets and the bath robes were top quality.
