hamza continues to be the best chicken over rice i've ever had. the recipes haven't changed in the 10+yrs i've been eating it. 8.99 for a packed tray + a drink really isn't terrible these days and i always get enough food to be uncomfortably full
i cant with some of these comments.. this is just a street cart lol, it's not a restaurant. go to a different cart if you want to pay with venmo, there's plenty around. i'll happily bring cash to hamza bc it's just the best
Got a combo over rice for $8. Not a lot of food for the money but the food tasted very good. I don't know if it was hunger but I was not expecting the food to taste as good as it did. If you ignore the portion size, this may be some of the best halal food you could get in NY for $8. Some of these reviews talking about "empty platters" though, I could definitely see where they're coming from.
Got the mix over rice, the chicken was very juicy and moist. Didn’t like the lamb as much but I believe if it was cooked on the spot it would’ve been much better instead of being precooked. The rice lacked flavor; a bit more seasoning to the rice or sauce would’ve really taken it to the next level. But nonetheless it’s a great portion. I wished the meat was chopped little more but that’s just preference.
