I would like to take this opportunity to express how great the Handspring team is. Laura and Chris have truly been amazing to my husband Reno. He became a quadruple amputee 15 months ago and it has been really difficult for him. To loose both hands and both feet at the same time. Frustrated wanting to do things on his own and be independent again. My husband and I met Laura and Chris in there New York office and from that very 1st visit We knew they were gonna help him become independent again. There dedication has been remarkable. And we look forwards to working with them.

We recently sent our prosthetic in for repairs, which turned out to be quite a complex task. We urgently needed it back, so we reached out to Laura on a Sunday. She was incredibly helpful throughout the day, making sure the prosthetic was ready for pickup before the originally scheduled time.

We also want to give special thanks to Sue for ensuring the prosthetic was prepared and ready, even on a Sunday. She went the extra mile by including a thoughtful postcard and a stuffed animal, which truly brightened our day.

Absolutely thrilled with the service I received at Hand Spring! After losing my hand 11 years ago, I finally got a prosthetic hand this year, thanks to the incredible expertise and support from specialists Chris and Laura at Hand Spring. They went above and beyond to assist me with paperwork, insurance issues, and every step of the process. Their dedication and compassion made all the difference in improving my quality of life. I cannot thank Hand Spring, Chris, and Laura enough for their exceptional care and the effectiveness of their help. When I first started doing calligraphy again with my right hand, after all these years, I was overwhelmed with emotion, tears streaming down my face. Words cannot express the depth of that moment and how much it means to me. Thanks to them, I'm now able to resume my passion for calligraphy, something I thought I'd lost forever. I highly recommend Hand Spring, Laura and Chris for anyone in need of prosthetic services

I recently had a really incredible experience at Handspring, where they fitted me for a new prosthetic socket and helped me achieve my vision of a unique, visually-distinct chrome design. My previous socket, which was over two years old, had become really uncomfortable and was affecting my control over my myoelectric device. My skin was popping out around my elbow and would become really red after a few hours of wearing my arm. It had definitely been discouraging me from wanting to wear and use my device — which is never a good thing when it comes to developing good control! The process of getting a new socket can be frustrating for prosthetic users, but the Handspring team made it seamless and I truly couldn’t be happier with the result.

Initially, I was nervous about the feasibility of this socket process, because I could only be in the area for a short period due to college move-in. The team at Handspring, however, went above and beyond to accommodate my schedule, fitting me in for a full day of fitting during the brief window of time that I had available.

The fitting process was smooth and enjoyable, with the Handspring team being attentive and responsive to my feedback. They listened carefully to my concerns and discomfort points with my old socket and made all of the necessary adjustments.

What really made this such a great experience though, was their willingness to embrace my fabrication vision. As someone interested in design and self-expression, I was really interested in creating a very reflective, chrome-finish socket. While this was something they hadn't done before, they not only encouraged the idea but also explored multiple options to make it a reality. We started with a metallic fabric fabrication and a resin seal over the socket, but it didn't quite achieve the 'chrome' look I had in mind.

I expressed my disappointment, and without hesitation, my prosthetist immediately began researching alternative solutions to meet my ideas. They didn’t make me feel burdensome at all, and encouraged my feedback. This level of commitment meant the world to me. Wearing a prosthetic device has been a journey of self-acceptance for me, and having a cool and visually distinct socket has made a significant difference in my confidence and interactions with others. It's a part of me that often comes up in conversation almost daily, and having a socket that I truly love is a game-changer for my self-expression and daily life.

I am fully aware that creating the chrome socket was a unique and uncharted fabrication process for Handspring. Nevertheless, I am immensely grateful for their dedication and persistence in helping me achieve this look! Their level of care, attention to detail, and the commitment to turning my creative vision into reality has left me feeling really grateful. I highly recommend their services to anyone in need of prosthetic care and support.

After just one day at Handspring the people there were like family, not staff. Being a country girl coming from Florida to New York I was apprehensive. Being 56, born with one hand and not having a prosthetic I didn't know what to expect. They were so caring but very professional. Each step was done by different people and each one worked their magic to make sure everything was perfect! Even down to how a two handed person walks! I love my body powered prosthetic and all the people at Handspring that made it perfect just for me!
