On Tuesday, September 9, 2025, my husband and I were driving through Briarcliff Manor on Route 9 when our car suddenly "died" at a traffic light. The local police kindly called a tow truck, and we were taken to Highland Transmissions.

Being from out of town, we were nervous about being taken advantage of—but those fears disappeared quickly. From the moment we arrived, Sal Credendino, the owner, was honest, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. He took the time to diagnose the issue and treated us with genuine care and respect.

The owner did not want to work on my Mitsubishi vans transmission. The guy in the shop was willing to. Nothing unusual about the transmission. 1993 and used in a variety of vehicles. Not sure what the issue was, it is a transmission shop with a good reputation. I’ve had a Toyota transmission repaired there a number of years ago.

No-nonsense work done right and fairly priced.

Had a to have my car towed from my driveway after it wouldn't go into gear a little over a year ago. Thought I was looking at a new transmission, but luckily just the right axle. Sal diagnosed it and repaired it in a matter of hours.

2 weeks ago, same issue. I called Sal and explained it and was told if it was the same side, no charge. Of course it was the opposite axle this time, but same great service. Plus after the tow driver left the car, the battery was dead. Sal charged it up overnight, free of charge and replaced a strut mount for me as well after I asked to take a look at a sound I was hearing.

Cannot recommend this shop enough for quality work at a fair price and no BS!

I sought help to get a tricky Subaru CVT transmission fluid change done at 104000 miles, one of few maintenance jobs I am leery about doing myself. Sal did the job personally at a fair price and in and out in a little over an hour. The transmission is already noticeably smoother.

I recently had my transmission completely rebuilt by Highland Transmission and I couldn't be happier with the result. The work was performed quickly and at a fair price and now my van drives like brand new again. I highly recommend Highland Transmission.
