I have ordered groceries online from Lakfood several times. Shipping is so fast. I always receive my packages within 2-3 days. They have a wide variety of Sri Lankan items including frozen food such as buns, roti, short eats, etc. Fresh vegetables are also available. They pack everything very safely. Fragile items such as glass bottles are always packed in high quality bubble wraps. They send unexpired fresh items. Once they sent some expired items; however, it was during the worst period of the pandemic. When I contact, they sent me a refund and I was told it happened due to the labor shortage at that time. It never happened again and I understood the impact of the pandemic.

Lakfood is the best place to buy all Sri Lankan food and other items that you are missing while living in the US.

Update: Everything is still ok except their recent Buy 1 get 1 free options. DO NOT buy these. They send items that are either EXPIRED or very close to expire. Recently I had to task for a refund for some items.

LakFood stocks an array of ingredients necessary for any Sri Lankan kitchen, as well as some homemade foods brought in on weekends. Since this visit took place on a Saturday, a case full fried fish and vegetable cutlets (rolls) were inviting, as well as the onion (seeni sambol) or fish filled triangular buns. In front of this case were single portions of lamprais, string hoppers, and chicken curry, all made in the same home and only available on Saturday and Sunday.
