I had a very nice time at the Grill on South Ocean. It's a very small place so if you're looking for a nice intimate dinner this would be a good place. I do recommend you make a reservation since it is so small, and that if it's fully booked it would probably get loud in there so something to keep in mind. The restaurant itself has a very unique vibe to it. It was a definite mix of nice restaurant but also bar. The service was very good and our waiter took excellent care of us. The food itself was amazing. I got the stuffed salmon as an entree and my boyfriend got the Cajun chicken Alfredo pasta. The stuffed salmon was absolutely delicious! It was perfectly cooked and flaky. It was stuffed with crab and the flavors of the crab paired wonderfully with the salmon. The mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts that came with it were also delicious. (For the picture of the salmon I had already started eating that's why the potatoes look like that, it was not served to me like that.) My boyfriend enjoyed his pasta and said that there wasn't much of a taste from the Cajun seasoning but it was still very good and the chicken and pasta were cooked well. For dessert I got the key lime pie which I loved. The crust had a nice flavor and the pie itself was one of the best I had. I appreciated that it was still tart and not overly sweet and had that wonderful lime taste. My boyfriend got the cookie skillet and said it was absolutely wonderful, the ice cream was good quality and that the cookie was absolutely phenomenal! It's pricey but the quality of the food is certainly worth the price. Overall I'd say this is a good spot for a for a date night or a small gathering.

The South Ocean Grille in Patchogue just reopened. We stopped in to have lunch and check out the updated look. We were greeted by one of the owners, Gene, who excitedly explained the menu and drinks and his vision to be very "Long Island forward" meaning they will be serving as much local food and drinks as possible.

Next we met Erin at the bar who was so friendly and warm. Our server ( sorry, didn't get her name) was also very sweet and attentive.

For lunch my other half had scallops with risotto. He said it was perfect and was pleasantly surprised to find shrimp in the risotto. Bonus! I had the black bean burger which was super yummy and the fries were perfect, not oily at all and lightly seasoned.

For dessert, we split a huge piece of key lime pie. My husband never eats the crust, but this time he ate the whole thing saying it was the best crust he ever had.

The chef, Kevin, came over to thank us as we were leaving. He was warm and appreciative. And yes, he made everything including the key lime pie.😁

I'm happy to see this wonderful restaurant return. Pop in and give them a try.

Out of town and in search of a neighborhood gem, my colleague and I decided to check this place out. Absolutely adorable little house and the inside seating area was comfortable and made you feel like you’re at home. We ordered an appetizer, meal and dessert and the food from start to finish was delicious. The key lime pie IS all it’s hyped up to be!

It was a Sunday evening and there were 2 tables seated when we arrived, that’s it. The gentleman who served us was not very engaged, and seemed polite but not into his job or serving us as it took awhile for him to come over and even say hello (wait he didn’t say hello or welcome). Would have been 5 stars except for service.

South Ocean Grill is truly exceptional! The food here consistently delights the palate, and the ambiance is always inviting and vibrant. The waitstaff are attentive and dedicated, ensuring a pleasant dining experience every time. This place exudes a cozy and intimate charm, making it perfect for a date night. Recently, we explored the outdoor seating area for the first time, and it was absolutely charming! While I typically enjoy their delectable burger, we decided to try a variety of dishes this time, and every single one was outstanding.

South Ocean Grill is a delight! I really love being able to dine off Main Street as it gets a bit busy so on this evening, my family and I needed a bite to eat as we had a relative in hospital. We were all very sad and hungry and fortunately they had a table for all 5 of us! Our waitress was so attentive, friendly and courteous (I forgot her name) but the food was amazing and came out quickly! The atmosphere there is perfect for intimacy and cozy. We shared appetizers and each got a main dish, we also indulged in some desserts. I would recommended but also encourage reservations as the space is small and gets busy! My only suggestion is that they should branch out, get a better bar area and please become a bit more accessible to those who need it!
