so from beginning to end First with Sue taking my reservation for my mom and myself and four friends to be seated under the igloo was seamless and then we got there tonight and blossom was our waitress. She was absolutely phenomenal. Everyone was so friendly. The atmosphere was wonderful, but I have to say right from beginning to start Sue and Blossom made this night spectacular it was such a special night for my mom who is 93. The food was fantastic. I cannot say enough about their house fries. They are just the best and their beer battered fish is wonderful. The portions are huge. This is definitely a must go to place. Thank you.
We spent the afternoon, at The Oar, in Patchogue.
We started off inside the Bar, but soon moved outside, to enjoy the last vestiges of warm weather.
They have a great Happy Hour, and Bartender Beth, besides being one of the most efficient Bartenders on the South Shore, is a hoot.... Great person..
Food was good, drinks better, service beyond excellent
We will be going back here
Missed all the food pictures, but I had the mussels in white sauce. They were some of the best mussels I've had in a long time..
It gets very crowded, so get there early.. Mary, the manager, and Beth the bartender, keep things going in the right direction,, Very pleasant people to deal with
Service, food, beverage, and atmosphere were all great. Deborah was an amazing server who was knowledgeable about the whole menu, personable with all guests and was attentive to all needs. Food was great! Calamari was perfectly cooked as it was soft and wonderfully breaded with a marinara sauce with roasted garlic. I came with my grandparents and they enjoyed their entrées as did I. Roasted duck, pan roasted halibut, seafood fra diavolo, and chocolate bread pudding we can all attest to being good dishes. Food quality did not affect plate size as all the dishes came at respectable sizes. Their Honey Duece was better than the one at the open this year. 😬 Would definitely come back again if I’m in the area and may even take the trip from Brooklyn just to come back.
We had such an incredible experience dining here—truly unforgettable! We were lucky enough to visit on Labor Day Monday and take advantage of their special Lobster Fest promotion: 2 lobsters for just $44! What a steal for such delicious, perfectly cooked lobster. The meat was tender and flavorful, and the portion was generous. If you’re a seafood lover, this is a deal you don’t want to miss.
Another standout dish was the burrata. I’ve had burrata at many places, but this one ranks among the best. Creamy, fresh, and beautifully presented—definitely a must-try!
The ambiance added so much to the experience. There was live music playing in the background, creating a lively yet relaxing atmosphere. The views of the water and yachts made everything feel like a mini vacation. We arrived just in time to catch the sunset, and it was absolutely magical.
It’s also a great spot for families. They’re doing something really fun for kids with these adorable boat-themed water cups—such a creative touch that the little ones loved.
Overall, everything from the food to the setting was top-notch. I highly recommend this place for a memorable meal, whether you're going with family, friends, or on a date. Can’t wait to go back!
a great location for a really bad food and service. It wasn’t a busy time when we went there . But we’ve been asked to order everything at once .and even after that the food was bad. Baked clams had sand in it.coconut on the coconut shrimp was off. Lobster wonton had cream cheese instead of lobster so not good experience.
