I really like Main Street Music. The staff is very friendly and helpful and it is a very comfortable and relaxed environment to take music lessons for children or adults. I take lessons with Sandy and love it. She's very encouraging and she pushes me to improve. She helps me to correct bad playing habits and improve my sound and ability.
I previously took a lesson at the New Windsor School of Music but found their scheduling a bit difficult and inflexible for my circumstances, though the lesson itself was good. As an adult my schedule changes from time to time and occasionally I need to change my lesson time. Main Street Music is very flexible and easily accommodates my scheduling needs. I really recommend taking lessons here :)
My daughter are 16 and 12. They have very different personalities and tastes in music. What I like most about their music lessons is they learn voice and drums and keyboard in a lesson taylor made to their individual styles. Frank and John have created an nice community for their students to learn and share music.
I have been a student at Main St Music for the past 2 years. I've been taking lessons with Frank Rudolph, and I highly recommend him as a terrific teacher, with a great understanding of all styles of music and of music theory. He makes complicated music approachable, teaching me shortcuts and fundamentals all at the same time. The monthly open mike/concert nights afford all Main St Music students the opportunity to play with the teachers in a band format. It is so much fun. I went from being afraid and too shy to do the performance - to actually looking forward to it! If you are looking to learn some fun piano - whatever style you are into - Frank Rudolph would be a most wonderful choice as your piano teacher. By the way - he is a remarkable guitarist and teacher of guitar as well.
The studio itself is warm and welcoming and the staff is friendly. My instructor (Frank) is wonderful - patient, kind and a great teacher. I enjoy my lessons very much and highly recommend Main Street Music for anyone who has an interest in learning a musical instrument.
