Nice trails, just note in the snow you will definitely want the proper equipment, hiking boots will not cut it as there are some steep sections.
This is a wonderful hiking area when you want an easy hike and are limited to time. The waterfall is a nice feature depending if there is water and not in a drought
1st time hiking here and it sure was amazing. Much variety of trails and difficulties. The blue and white are harder and steeper while red orange and yellow are on the easier side. I hiked here after the intense rainfall and the waterfalls delivered. I highly recommend this spot, mainly bc it offers a variety of intensity. Also you dont have to hike far to see the waterfalls. Very quiet and peaceful. To add the harder trails you'll less likely see alot of ppl which is nice.
Finally the parking lot is smaller so i recommend getting there in the earlier side to beat the rush.
It's always a nice hike in Ciaiola. With the recent rain, I wanted to check the waterfalls, which in fact had a good flow. But the mosquitoes were all there in full force for the party! (like everywhere else). It will be nicer in the Fall!
This Conservation/park has a number of trails to follow. We went on a really cool fall day. A little too cool for me. We were attempting to locate a waterfall, said to be off one of the trails. Though we enjoyed the walk, may not be good if you need level walking, we didn't find the waterfall. That was because it was too chilly for me (not a fan of cold weather). There is also a wooden lean-to on a trail, we were told. We did locate a dividing marker indicating boundary between NY & CT. Will go back either early Spring or earlier Fall. There is parking, though it may fill up depending on the time of day and weather. I do recommend checking it out.
