Rockaway Gourmet

You know how in New York everyone has that spot that they go to for their sandwiches?! Well, Rockaway Gourmet is THAT!! This Deli is like a staple in Canarsie or as the youngins would say "The Floss." The food is phenomenal. The menu has all types of options. There are options for Vegetarians, I believe some stuff for Vegans, and everyone in between. I usually go while I'm at work which is in the evening but I've gone in the morning as well when I'm working late. Just about everything I have had has been delicious!! My favorites are the Rockaway Jerk Chicken with the Rockaway Fries. The seasoning on the jerk is just right and the Gourmet fries are handcut fries with seasoning that has been marinated over night. If you're a fry lover get these. I also have fallen in love with the turkey ham grilled sandwich on a roll. The smoothies are excellent as well as the juices. You cannot go wrong here. The salads have nothing but the freshest ingredients, none of that wilted lettuce or translucent cucumber stuff like in other delis. In addition, they have a great variety of ingredients. This place is so nice that it's always BUSY specifically in the PMs. It's so busy, it's like damn does anyone in Canarsie cook, lol, but they are really that good. I suggest if you can calling in your order.

The service is exceptional here. My favorite guy in the PM who I think is everyone's favorite Abdul-K is AWESOME, when you look up customer service in the dictionary, there would be a picture of him. He as well as other workers at this restaurant including his cousin make you feel like that song from "Cheers", "I want to go where everybody knows your name." He remembers names and orders; and treats everyone as far as I've seen with kindness and respect.

The atmosphere has good vibes. It's very peaceful regarding energy but there's a lot of traffic because the food is so good. There is a community vibe. They are the epitome of spreading love the Brooklyn way!

generally speaking best deli in Canarsie. chips are perfectly seasoned, burgers are juicy and flavorsome. staff is extremely nice and welcoming (specially as some who is from London) they have such a wide varieties of different meals and even do breakfast. the wait for the food is reasonably long but that's how you know the food is made with love. I will definitely be returning for another meal and i advise u to do the same.

Love this place. I understand why there’s always cars outside now and it’s always so crowded. Arguably the best deli in Brooklyn talkess of Canarsie. Might even be best in all NYC. They have everything. The widest selection of drinks I’ve ever seen. Even more than 7/11. Prices are good. Staff is very friendly A+
