They need to put a map of the layout near the entrance of the park. There are so many fields out there, multiples for the same sport, and some are not even labeled. No direction as to which way to go for the field you need. Tanner Park is a great place, but it would be a great safety measure to limit people from driving all over and over, looking for the field they need.
ALSO, and this is important, especially with little kids, the bathrooms should be open while events, even the little kids sports, are going on. And kept clean.
Tanner Park is nice place to walk, exercise. Have to be mindful of the geese droppings. The scenery is peaceful and there is spray park for young children, should be open soon. Use to an ice cream place but I didn’t see it anymore. Seems a casual restaurant is there now. A lot of seating if you want to look at the water, relax. Away from that area is a playground and skate park and basketball courts
This park is one of my favorite spots on the Great South Bay. I love the beautiful paths by the water. The upcoming summer makes me excited for kayaking, community events, swimming, long walks, & long nights with cotton candy sunsets. The entire park is well maintained & a part of my day.
Cool park to visit in winter walking along the boardwalk and looking at icy waters of the bay. Restrooms are winterized and closed though. Several parking lots near the fields and bay area.
There has been times that when dealing with staff, they do not educate others on how to obtain what's needed to go into the park in the midday. My only gripe about that. The sunrises are absolutely worth getting up earlier than most people. Pictures are amazing but it's well worth it to experience it firsthand!
(Update I appreciate all of the positive people that I've met but there has been a big amount of people that I overhear when I'm here with my cameras and equipment and some make fun of me or think that I'm weird. I'm just here to say that I'm here to enjoy the sunrise and take photos like everyone else the only difference is that I get paid for it.)
I'm a town resident just like everyone else
